TO RECLAIM THE PROPHETIC VOICE, WE OFFER RESOURCES FOR PEACE-CONVERSATIONS IN RELIGIOUS CONGREGATIONS.

  • We offer resources to challenge the use of violence as a means of social change, and to invite constructive alternatives; and
  • In particular, we offer materials to help religious groups to resist being co-opted in support violence-for-social-change, as seen in the “War on Terrorism.”

Seeking the Prophetic Voice in the Cause of Peace with Justice we challenge the use of violence as a means of social change, and invite constructive alternatives.  Specifically, we challenge the ways that religion is co-opted in support violence-for-social-change, as seen in the “War on Terrorism.”

We provide alternative views and resources that address hot spots where the ugly myth of violent as a solution is being enacted.  We invite others to join in sharing your views and resources.   At the moment these hot spots are in the Israeli - Palestinian conflict and the U.S. “War on Terrorism” in Afghanistan- Pakistan, with imminent threats to expand.

We share  resources:

  • for dialogue groups in neighborhood churches, synagogues, mosques, parishes and in the larger community; and
  • For religious events, such as liturgy, public prayers, sermons, meditations, bulletin inserts, and the like.

We invite you to join in this conversation

  • by reading and using the materials in these pages;

  • by adding your personal comments and experiences

  • by sharing additional resources.

We expect participants to treat others with respect, to argue issues and policies, not personalities and character, and to keep our comments focused and mercifully brief.
