SOCIAL COMPASS | ||||
International journal of sociology of religion was founded in the Hague in 1953 by G. Zeegers, director of the Katholiek Sociaal Kerkelijk Instituut (KASKI), to publish studies of sociology applied to the pastoral work of the Roman Catholic Church. Since 1959, Social Compass has been produced by the Socio-Religious Center (Catholic University of Louvain) for the International Federation of Socio-Religious Institutes. The journal stresses a scientific approach to religion. Each issue is thematic, often concentrating on a specific country. Since 1991, this quarterly review has been published by Sage, and each year the first issue is devoted to papers presented at SISR conferences. Karel Dobbelaere |
