JOURNAL OF CHURCH AND STATE

Published four times a year by the J. M. Dawson Institute of Church-State Studies of Baylor University. From its inception in 1958 through 1994, the editor was the journal's founder, James E. Wood, Jr.

The journal is intended to stimulate interest in and advance research about the subject of church and state. Each issue contains scholarly essays, book reviews, notes on church-state affairs around the world, important texts issued by religious or governmental bodies, and a list of relevant doctoral dissertations. The journal has been an advocate of religious freedom.
