(1925-1990) M.Phil., Columbia University; Episcopalian layman; core leader in the founding and maintenance of the Religious Research Association (RRA) and its president, 1985-1986.

Jacquet worked in the National Council of Churches of Christ (NCC) research department from 1952 to 1990; from 1959, he directed its research library, including the H. Paul Douglass collection of church-related field studies. He compiled and edited the Yearbook of American (since 1973, and Canadian ) Churches , 1966-1990. By 1990, this included statistics on 306 denominations, an extensive directory of religious organizations, periodicals, other sources of religious research material, interpretive articles, and some special reports, such as his "Women Ministers in 1986 and 1977: A Ten Year Review." Daily, he answered inquiries from the media and others about the use and interpretation of church statistics. As a member and officer of the Association of Statisticians of Religious Bodies, he promoted ways to achieve greater uniformity in statistical reporting by denominations. Jacquet served as President, Secretary, and Archivist of the Religious Research Association and as a contributing editor to its Review of Religious Research . The Constant H. Jacquet Research Award of the RRA memorializes his contribution to the field.
